Alright, so there’s this hiking spot in my hometown called the gorge. My hometown was home to a ton of Native Americans and there was a tribe residing in a cave now known as Mary Campbell’s cave. Named after a girl who was kidnapped by the tribe residing there (there are tons of different stories, including that she was repeatedly r*ped and tortured until the landslide hit and that’s why it’s not really a cave anymore. It killed everyone there). My friends and I decided it’d be great to go there at like 2am and ghost hunt. The trails are slippery, and you could easily fall off the side of the trail straight down to the river, that’s how people die every year in that park.
So we go to this cave and sit inside of it (cave is massive) and we had a voice recorder going. We were there maybe 20 minutes and heard a very distinct jingling type sound, almost like chains or keys. First on the right side of the cave, then immediately after on the left. It was very obviously not an echo. We got a bad feeling like maybe it was rangers or something and decided to leave. We speed walked back towards the parking lot and by the time we got to a fork in the trail (one side goes up and back around, the other side goes to the parking lot), we heard large branches snapping and looked down to the river and something massive was coming out of the water. We booked it up the wrong side and realized it was circling back towards the cave, then had to turn around and go back to where that thing was and go down the correct side. We decided to never go there again. And the recorder didn’t pick up a thing. One of the two friends that came with us was a non-believer in the paranormal until that shit.
